The AEC Science & Technology (AEC-ST) and Ecobuild events have announced their new advisory board. More than a dozen recognized experts in the design and construction industry have already signed on to lend their expertise in the development of future conference programs.
Conference Manager Carol Konecny explains, “Advisory board members were selected based on their outstanding accomplishments and high standing in the AEC community. Specialists in each of our 10 educational tracks will play a key role in helping us present the most timely content for our conference attendees. We are honored to be working with the ‘best of the best’ in a diverse array of niches from Sustainable Design to Green Construction & Homebuilding to Information Technology, BIM, Interoperability and more.”
Advisory board members will provide guidance on “must have” conference topics, speakers, and share advice to help Ecobuild and AEC-ST conferences remain pertinent, unbiased, and cutting-edge. This collaborative team will assist in keeping conference content moving in the right direction while continually increasing the quality. Most of the members wear multiple hats, also serving on boards and committees of influential professional associations that are driving awareness in sustainability and AEC Information Technology including SBIC, GBI, NIBS, CSI, SCIP, OSCRE, and more.
Advisory board member Mark Kalin of Kalin Associates ads, “Green design and product selection are No. 1 on the priority list for many design firms -- because their clients can market the improvements, and with the price of energy increasing it's an essential consideration. Green and LEED are different, and you must educate your staff on the difference.” Fellow board member Randall Newton Editor-in-Chief and Publisher AECnews.com adds, “2006 has turned into an incredible year for new technology introductions in AEC and GIS. Opportunities are better than ever for motivated firms to improve their processes, cut costs, and gain competitive advantage. When you also consider that 'going green' requires sophisticated analysis tools, I think attending this year's AEC-ST and Ecobuild Federal conferences is the smart thing to do.”
