Océ today announces the TDS700, a mid-volume large format monochrome printer/scanner for architectural and enginering workgroups and reprographic shops. Océ claims the modular design of the TDS700 “fits the way you want it” with thousands of different hardware and software configurations, including optional color scanning.

The TDS700 can print up to nine D-size prints per minute and 10,000 sq. ft. of uninterrupted printing capability, without the need to stop the system to load toner or paper. It can be loaded with up to six rolls of media in what Océ calls an ergonomically-designed roll loading system for ease of use. (The base TDS700 supports two rolls; more can be added with an upgrade.) Océ claims its “next-generation Radiant Fusing Technology” provides the fastest print time from a cold start in the industry. The “Océ Power Logic Controller” can process print, copy and scan jobs quickly, allowing for concurrent processing of one file while the previous file is printing.

Print quality is 600 x1200 dpi monochrome. The optional scanner uses Océ Image Logic image-enhancement technology, a patented digital-enhancement process that analyzes an original’s image, millimeter by millimeter, to refine and optimize it while suppressing background imperfections. Océ says the single mirror, single camera design of the Océ TDS700 scanner eliminates the need for image stitching and minimizes the probability of distortion.

Software options for the TDS700 include Océ Print Exec Software Suite, which optimizes the entire technical document printing process from desktop job submission to enterprise-wide print management, and Océ Repro Desk, software which offers online print processing that boosts the profitability of central repro departments and commercial reprographers. Also available is Océ Account Center, which allocates printing, copying and scanning costs to departments, projects and customers, turning expenses into chargeable income.

The Océ TDS700 will be available in early 2007. For more information on the Océ TDS700, visit www.oceusa.com.
