Dear A-E-C Automation Newsletter reader,

I want you to be among the first to know that, effectively immediately, A-E-C Automation Newsletter is now open to all readers. After 27 years, the oldest technology newsletter covering architecture, engineering, and construction is moving its business model from private subscription to advertising-supported open access via the World Wide Web.

In the coming days and weeks, the AECnews web site will evolve to reflect the change:

  • New articles will go online immediately—no more “wait until next month”
  • RSS support for newsreaders
  • New advertising from industry vendors
  • A more user-friendly article archive and better built-in search
  • Additional coverage for AEC technology on non-Windows platforms

Some things about A-E-C Automation Newsletter will NOT change:

  • No Press Releases—Every article is based on original reporting and the years of knowledge we bring to this industry.
  • No “Trailing Edge” coverage—Our goal is to keep you informed and on top of what’s happening.

I think this is an exciting time for our industry. AEC professionals everywhere seem to have a new sense of urgency to understand and correctly implement emerging technologies. By opening the great reporting and analysis in A-E-C Automation Newsletter to everyone, we intend to drive the industry conversation for the benefit of everyone.

In a press release going out soon, Cyon Research CEO Brad Holtz writes, “AECNews is our hidden gem. Month after month, Editor-in-Chief Randall S. Newton puts together a must-read publication for industry thought leaders. But, until now, only a small percentage of the market could benefit from this great reporting and analysis. Moving A-E-C Automation Newsletter to free publication with advertiser support puts the newsletter front and center in the AEC community, right where it belongs.”

I look forward to having you as a regular reader of the “new” A-E-C Automation Newsletter.

Best wishes,

Randall S. Newton
Editor-in-Chief
