Architosh Editor-in-Chief Anthony Frausto-Robledo is reporting a growing market share for the Apple Macintosh in AEC:

Specialized resellers focused in this area are not only carrying record levels of available software choices -- as more and more developers continue to support the Mac platform -- but sales for the last quarter were higher than expected.

Last year I worked with Anthony on a white paper published by Cyon Research analyzing the possibility, and need, for AutoCAD on the Macintosh. One conclusion of the paper was that DWF, Autodesk's format for publishing design data, does not adequately address demand for AutoCAD on the Macintosh, but that nobody should be holding their breath for a Mac version of AutoCAD. It would seem that people are tired of waiting, and are moving to other solutions.
