I don't remember what inspired me, but one afternoon in 1997 I decided to entertain myself by writing a humor piece about CAD file formats. At the time, I was working for a CAD vendor, and didn't think my employer would appreciate the article, so I released it anonymously to a few people. It found its way onto a few CAD-related web sites and sparked some discussion. It is a little dated, but I think AECnews.com readers can still appreciate it eight years later.
