Autodesk today opened its first "Center of Excellence" (CoE) in Mumbai, India. The new center, at Sir JJ College of Architecture, will focus on architecture design. According to the Economic Times of India, Autodesk will soon open a second CoE in Delhi.

Autodesk intends the center to serve both students and faculty, by providing a resource for learning 3D model-based design software.

The Times quoted Autodesk India Regional Head Rajiv Nair:  "With India fast emerging as design outsourcing hub, there is a need to equip the country's current generation of architects on 3D concepts... The center of excellence is in line with Autodesk's vision to empower India's enormous talent pool."
