Every year I write a pre-COFES think piece that will help jump-start the conversational agenda (not that COFES attendees need help with this, you understand). I have been watching and thinking about the hubbub surrounding Google Earth and SketchUp, and I decided to dig in deeper. The result is that I want to put location-based simulation for AEC on your "what's next" radar. In a nutshell, location-based simulation takes 3D models and views them in a geospatial and time-referenced viewing environment. We aren't there today, but we are much closer than you might realize.
So, dear AECnews.com reader, it is time once again to kiss the future right on the lips; please read the new article, "Location-Based Simulation: Google Earth is the Foundation for the Next Advance in AEC Visualization."
