The latest release of LightWorks, one of the most popular rendering engine in architecture and construction, has new features to make photorealistic rendering easier to create.

Publisher LightWork Design claims the new “Final Gather” feature offers the ability to “simply press a button” to have LightWorks version 7.6 automatically calculate the correct lighting for a view. In the words of Andy Chapman, Managing Director of LightWork Design, “Working with our customers has confirmed that the use of physically accurate scene components such as lights and materials actually makes applications easier to use.  Our latest release embraces this concept and concentrates on enhancing not only the quality of images created but also simplifies the processes to obtain them.”

Other new features in this release include:

  • Enhanced integration with other programs
  • 64-bit Windows support
  • Microsoft Visual C++ version 8 support
  • Support for Intel-based Macintosh OS X (Universal Binaries)
