Dexter + Chaney, the company behind the popular Forefront Construction Suite of construction management and accounting software, will return to Seattle for its 11th annual users conference. The event will be April 25-27, 2007, at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Seattle’s downtown waterfront.
Holding the conference in Seattle has become a popular tradition among Forefront users. “Users have told me that, in addition to learning about Forefront and networking with their peers, having the conference in Seattle each year is a major ‘draw,’” says John Chaney, company co-founder and president.
“All work and no play” does not describe the Dexter + Chaney users’ conference. Attendees at the 2007 event will enjoy a boat cruise on Elliott Bay and Puget Sound, featuring an elegant dinner freshly prepared on board the Royal Argosy tour boat, with constantly changing views of the city skyline, the Olympic Mountains and scenic islands. Also scheduled, in addition to a full set of classes and seminars, is the popular dinner/cirque/comedy/cabaret event at Seattle’s Teatro Zinzanni, featuring a five-course feast designed by celebrated chef Tom Douglas.
As a Pacific Northwest resident, I can tell you April is a great time to visit Seattle: no summer crowds, high likelyhood of clear weather, and all you need is a light jacket.
There will be good business reasons to attend, too, Chaney says. "Users will share ideas and suggestions with each other in nearly 50 sessions, user roundtables and other forums. That’s a key benefit of the conference. We get the opportunity to learn directly from our customers about their business issues, and our users learn from each other.”
