The challenges and excitement of "extreme engineering" projects and the industry predicament of too few engineers will be explored in two keynote presentations at this year's AVEVA conference, the International Symposium for Engineering IT (ISEIT) Americas.
Danny Forster, host of the Discovery Channel’s “Extreme Engineering” series, will be the featured celebrity keynote speaker. Kenneth E. Arnold, Chief Engineer, Oil & Gas for AMEC Paragon, will give the industry keynote presentation. The conference will be October 23-24, 2006 at the Southshore Harbour Resort, Clear Lake, Texas, and will be co-located with the Viewpoint Americas independent AVEVA Users Group conference.
Other conference highlights include a panel on “Data Interoperability for Asset Lifecycle Maintenance” led by Dr. Ric Jackson, Executive Director of FIATECH, and a panel on “Benefits and Issues of Utilizing 3D Laser Scanning on Brownfield and Retrofit Projects,” led by SPAR Point Managing Partner Tom Greaves. Several case studies presented by AVEVA users are also on the schedule.
