Just when you thought the world of AEC and GIS was a holiday-free zone, along comes Google to remind you that sometimes, all this technology stuff is really just toys.

Start your holiday excuse to play in 3D by downloading the Santa Tracker. It's a Google Earth file that shows exactly where Santa Claus is delivering presents across the world on December 24th. You'll need the latest free version of Google Earth; the version number is listed on the site.

Not to be outdone by their Google Earth comrades, the team at Google SketchUp have modeled Santa, his team of reindeer, and his North Pole workshop. SketchUp is also running a game called “Santa's Toy Hunt.” There are giant 3D "toys" hidden all over the (Google Earth) world to count down the days until his flight. To play, download the “Santa's Toy Hunt and Tracker."
