The Targeted Advertising Consortium (TAC), the CAD industry’s largest network of independent Web publishers, has added a new ad size to the lineup. The new ad size follows on the heels of a management transition that gave a member site ownership of the ad network.

The new size now appears on TAC sites including AECnews. Adobe was the initial buyer. At 300 x 250 pixels, this new ‘Rectangle’ ad enables advertisers to better transmit their messages to the audience. This new ad size is the first of several ad changes that will be implemented over the next few months, says Rick Stavanja of Tangra Solutions, LLC, which owns CADwire.net, a TAC member.

Although new for TAC, the ‘Rectangle’ placement is already proving popular, with more than half the inventory booked at launch date. Like all TAC placements, it is available to each targeted audience, including MCAD, AEC, Plant, GIS and EDA, and makes targeted advertising easier and more effective.

In adopting this new size,” says Stavanja, “our goal was to make it a premium placement that allows vendors an opportunity to deliver more compelling ads. As such we’ve worked with all Consortium member sites to ensure each site features the ad without being detrimental to each site’s user experience.

The Targeted Advertising Consortium is the industry’s largest provider of CAD information, page views, and ad impressions. TAC is a network of five CAD-related web sites that enable advertising to be specifically targeted to the various discreet vertical markets in the CAD industry. Member sites include CADwire.net, MCADcentral.com, AECnews, Click4Links, and EPJournal. Between the sites, more than 12 million advertising impressions are delivered every month and more than 1.1 million page views are recorded. The Targeted Advertising Consortium has grown more than 50% in page views and impressions in the last 8 months and continues to deliver quality for its readers and its advertisers every month.
