Informative Graphics Corporation has created a wholly owned subsidiary that will focus on developing and marketing its ProjectDox communication and process management platform for AEC, with a special emphasis on reaching the emerging paperless permitting and plan-checking market.

The new CEO of Avolve Software, Ron Loback, says the IGC spin-off will “focus on delivering the ability for AEC firms and local governments to transition to best-in-class online solutions that feature advanced visual communication and process administration tools.” By giving ProjectDox into its own company, IGC plans to focus on its other solutions for format-neutral content visualization.

“We’ve seen local governments that have such a bottleneck with their construction plans that the turnaround time is 12 to 18 months,” Loback said. “That costs the construction companies and architectural firms serious time and money, and that’s not good for any community. Whether a municipality takes 18 months or five days to turn around paper plans, ProjectDox slashes that time and makes everything run much more smoothly.” Loback says ProjectDox enables submission of construction plans via a local government’s Web site, offering the planning team the ability to review documents electronically and submit changes without ever printing a piece of paper.
