Information Week is reporting today that the National Institute of Standards and Testing (NIST) is banning the use of Microsoft Vista from its networks. The agency is responsible for research and testing in many areas, including building sciences and related technologies. IW says this is the third federal agency to impose such a ban, the others being the Federal Aviation Administration and its parent agency, the US Department of Transportation.

From the article:
According to the formal agenda for [a meeting on April 10 about the decision], NIST technology workers will attend a session entitled "Windows Vista Security" to discuss "the current ban of this operating system on NIST networks." NIST officials weren't immediately available to comment.
