A team of experienced AEC software executives have acquired software for real-time planning and management of public works projects. The team is launching a new company to develop and sell the product.

Envista Corporation will develop and sell software for the strategic and financial management of built infrastructure assets. Envista enterprise-level solutions are designed for public and private utilities, government institutions, defense agencies, and corporations. The company has entered into partnership agreements with IBM and ESRI.

Envista acquired the core technology from Barchan Associates, LLC.

Envista will be lead by CEO Rick Fiery, former Infrasoft CEO and Bentley Systems Vice President of Global Finance. Others on the founding leadership team are:
  • Marc Fagan, Executive Vice President, former President and co-founder of Vanderweil Facility Advisors (VFA)
  • Martha Bednarz, Director of Marketing, former Principal of ONYX Communications, and former Corporate Marketing Manager at Bentley
  • Tom Bergeron, Director of Sales, formerly an original team member of Softdesk and an experienced former Autodesk product manager.
"Towns and cities across America are confronted with the burden of upgrading major public assets built at the turn of the century or after," says Fiery. "In a recent Business Week article, it was reported by transportation officials that federal, state, and local governments need to spend an estimated $155.5 billion improving highways and bridges in 2007, which is up 50% over the past 10 years. Envista is developing strategic methodologies to effectively manage infrastructure assets and garner the greatest return on the taxpayer's dollar."

Envista headquarters are in Beverly, Massachusetts.
