Today Apple released a beta version of its web browser Safari for the Windows environment.
I'm using it right now to post this item to AECnews. My first impression is that it is VERY fast. Please note, I was taught in journalism school to only use the word "very" in my writing when it made equal sense to substitute the word "damn" for "very." So, note that I not only used "very," I put it in all caps.
Why would Apple release a version of Safari to Windows? Because Apple needs a development platform in the Windows environment for iPhone, to be released through AT&T later this month. In an about-face from the original announcement, Apple has decided to open iPhone to third-party development. Giving developers access via Safari is the fastest way to get tools into the hands of the most developers.
