A new series on the Discovery Channel (US) starting this week celebrates the world’s largest construction projects. Unlike past shows on construction, this one promises to be entertaining as well as informative.
“Build It Bigger ” features Harvard Design School graduate and former stand-up comedian Danny Forster as host. In each episode, Forster literally gets on top of the subject—as well as inside, underneath, etc. I've met Danny and heard him speak. I know he will bring passion, professional experience, and wit into each week’s show.
The program runs on Tuesday nights (US) at 10pm. The first episode will feature the world’s tallest roller coaster. Future episodes will include the construction of what will be the world’s tallest skyscraper in Shanghai, a gigantic tunnel under Los Angeles, the world's largest cruise ship, and more. As Danny told me this morning, “
Huge projects, amazing access—and me running around like a maniac trying to take it all in.” I'd say this is TiVo-worthy TV.
