Microspot Ltd. (Maidstone Kent, UK) has released a new professional version of Interiors Professional, with a new raytrace rendering engine, new modeling tools, and an expanded library.
Interiors Professional is a Macintosh-based 3D design application for visualizing interiors and creating animations. It comes with a library of more than 1500 items which can be resized, colored, and textured. The new renderer can add reflections and shadows to interior models, creating more realistic designs and animations. Rendering options include interactive (for speed while designing), preview, Microspot standard renderer (with variable resolution for the images and shadows) and the new raytrace renderer for final images and animations. While Microspot Interiors Professional is primarily a modeling tool for existing objects from its library or from other products, it also includes a set of 14 modeling tools and four palettes.
The modeling tools include six primitive shapes, (cube, sphere, cone, pyramid, cylinder and regular polygon) and four more complex tools for pipes, torroids, lathed shapes and irregular polygons. Other tools include a 3D text tool and an edit path tool which enables coils and threads to be modeled. The four extra palettes include a section palette for adjusting the section of lathed objects, polygons and more, and a construct palette to control Boolean operations.
The new version of Interiors Professional adds import of Google SketchUp and Autodesk 3DS files.
Microspot Interiors Professional has a retail price of $249.00 (£149.00 or €199.00). System Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 or above; Macintosh with G5 or Intel processor with 1GB RAM and 1GB free disk space.
